Single-use, nonrecyclable mylar plastic bags are the industry standard for flower packaging. Every mylar bag goes into a landfill. We want to be the change leader.

• DON’T BE FOOLED:

Just because it has a recycling symbol on it does not mean it gets recycled. Most municipal recycling companies only take "rigid" plastic. The soft film plastic used in mylar bags almost never gets recycled.

• Recycle symbols can be deceiving. In many cases, small plastic ends up in landfills because it does not meet recycling requirements once it enters a recycling facility.

• Most flower jar lids, concentrate lids, and joint tubes do not meet the recyclability requirements of recycling facilities, even if they have a recycle symbol
